Artist Statement
My work is colorful and begins with layers of paint, symbols, shapes and words. As I work through each layer I seek passages within the painting that will guide me to a finished statement of optimism and hope. My work is abstract yet at the same time contains recognizable elements. I am often told by those who purchase my work that they never thought they would buy an abstract painting, but “there is something I can understand in yours.”
